Rathnadeepa Divers - Founders

Ready to Dive In?

Rohan HAP
IDC Staff Instructor, Tec Deep Instructor

Rathnadeepa Divers was founded by Rohan HAP in 2016, who now has over 10 years training and teaching both in recreational and technical diving. has trained and taught in a number of countries including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom, gaining both his recreational and technical instructor ratings in England. But the pull the of warm water diving and his native country Sri Lanka, have lead to the founding of this new dive centre here, in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka!

Rohan is passionate about diving and the underwater environment. Sri Lanka has stunning coral reefs, sea life and wrecks, and Rohan is keen to share this with all those who visit, whether novice divers for a discovery scuba course, fun diving or further recreational or tec diving courses.

Teaching people about the environment is key to helping protect it alongside increasing local knowledge, boosting local employment opportunities and health & safety in the water. In this capacity, Rohan also works with the local community offering opportunities for youngsters to develop their skills in the water.

Before returning to Sri Lanka in 2016, Rohan lived for 15 years in Japan where he studied Japanese Martial Arts focusing his training on karate, later becoming a Black Belt 5 Dan in the Goju Ryu style in 2007.
